Description:
NCR and Shugart Associates developed the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) in 1981-1982, and NCR developed a custom integrated circuit to implement it. SCSI has become a standard interface for computer systems. The NCR microelectronics division is currently a part of LSI Logic. Now, in this 20th anniversary year of 2001, LSI Logic becomes the industry's first to release a 7th generation SCSI product, the LSI53C1030 chip, designed to meet the new Ultra320 SCSI performance standard using packetized protocol.
