Calculator Display and Keyboard Assembly

This item illustrates the essential parts of a 1980 calculator without the case. The VLED display consists of twelve LED chips mounted and bonded to the PC board with a clear plastic lens with magnifying bubbles above each chip.

The LED chips were furnished by the SC Group in Dallas and the lens by an Ohio supplier. The circuit board and the IC are from TI Singapore, and the board assembly was by TI Taiwan. The keyboard was made at TI Lubbock and assembled to the board in the Lubbock or Abilene plant.
