| Numeric LED Display - 1971-2 TI number: G00439 This item is a prototype TIL308 Numeric Display With Logic. It was made in late 1971 or early 1972. It consists of a seven segment gallium arsenide phosphide digit with an integrated circuit. The TI IC is an SN74143 4 Bit Counter/Latch Seven-Segment LED/Lamp Driver chip. The assembly is mounted on a lead frame and cast in an electrically nonconductive transparent plastic compound. This unit was cast in clear plastic, but standard production units were cast in a red compound. The IC is mounted above the digit but was placed below it in production.
