| Alphanumeric LED Display TI number: G00447 The display contains a 5 x7 matrix plus decimal point of gallium arsenide phosphide LED's. They are mounted on a plug-in lead frame header and then cast in a red, electrically nonconductive, plastic compound with molded domes above each LED. This device is electrically and mechanically equivalent to type TIL311 except for the domes. The purpose was to increase the light intensity, which it did. However, the viewing angle was decreased so that the digit was not so easily read. After a trial run, it was not put into production. |
