Abstract of the Disclosure

The disclosure concerns frequency domain tape speed compensation wherein overall stability for a given channel is related to the stability of the data discriminator alone, as compared with conventional systems wherein the overall stability is related to the sum of the stabilities of both the data discriminator and the reference frequency discriminator.
